There is no such thing as a rainy day if you resolve to have a little fun with your New Year’s resolutions! It’s that time of year again to make our year-long commitments, but often times we put so much pressure on ourselves to keep up with our ambitious resolutions, that we forget to plan a little more free time.
I have a lot of things I want to accomplish for next year, one of them being to reconnect with Henderson. I have lived in Henderson most of my life, but I never realized how great of a place Henderson truly is until I spent time away living in a different city. So I thought what better way to connect with my city than to plan some one-on-one time with our great state park, John James Audubon State Park.
So here’s a list of resolutions that can be done any day, rain or shine, at Audubon Park!
Explore a trail I’ve never been on
Learn something new about museum architecture and history
Do some puddle hopping on a rainy day
Exercise in the park
View the galleries
Canoe on the lake
Do some bird watching
Get to know the local wildlife
Participate in a festival
Taste a festival food or drink I’ve never tried before
Go for a hike at Audubon Park
Do some nature inspired sketching or drawing
Build a snowman in the park, or maybe just a snow angel, depending on how much snow we get!
