Henderson County Recognized Nine Times in Kentucky Living Magazine’s 2018 Best in Kentucky Awards

Henderson, KY (August 24, 2018) – The winners of Kentucky Living Magazine’s eighth annual Best in Kentucky Awards were announced yesterday at the Kentucky State Fair. Several tourist attractions in Henderson County were recognized at the awards ceremony. The following winners were announced:

1st Place in Event or Festival – W.C. Handy Blues & Barbecue Festival
1st Place in Winery – Farmer & Frenchman Winery
3rd Place in Arts/Music Venue – Preston Arts Center, Henderson Community College
3rd Place in Camping Spot – John James Audubon State Park
3rd Place in Farmer’s Market – Henderson Farmers Market
3rd Place in Hamburger – Metzger’s Tavern
3rd Place in Selfie Spot – Henderson Riverfront
3rd Place (Tie) in Barbecue – J&B Barbecue & Catering
3rd Place (Tie) Sweet Spot – 2nd Street Treats

Henderson County was recognized in six categories in 2017 Best in Kentucky Awards. This is the third year in a row that the W.C. Handy Blues & Barbecue Festival was a 1st Place winner. This is Farmer’s & Frenchman Winery’s first year in receiving 1st Place. The Henderson winery topped competitors Purple Toad Winery and Talon Winery & Vineyards.

The winners of the 2018 Best in Kentucky Awards will be recognized in an upcoming print edition of Kentucky Living Magazine. Kentucky Living Magazine is the largest circulated publication in the state of Kentucky, with over 475,000 magazines in circulation and reaching about 1 million readers.
