The Henderson County Genealogical and Historical Society, in conjunction with the Depot Community Room, is offering an exhibit entitled “Honoring Our Veterans,” which opened on Veterans Day and continues for viewing through December 30 at the Depot, located at First and Water streets in Henderson, Kentucky.
The Society presents permanent exhibits throughout the year in the Depot Community Room featuring General Samuel Hopkins, General Adam Rankin Johnson, and Admiral Husband Kimmel, with free literature available at the Kimmel exhibit.
The Veterans exhibit, featuring an alphabetical listing of all deceased veterans from Henderson County provided by the American Legion Worsham Post 40, honors all veterans regardless of their rank or accomplishments.
In addition to the Veterans Day exhibit, the Society is offering the public the opportunity to contribute to an expanded exhibit by providing a photo of their veteran to be displayed through the holiday season. Photographs, printed or digital, should be submitted before December 6. Digital photographs should be minimal 300 dpi and can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Depot is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, you may call Linda Hallmark at 830-7514 or Donna Spencer at 830-9707.
