Trip Tips: Susan Thurman to Guide First Community Room Walking Tour of the Year

Have you even wondered what was on the corner of Second and Main streets before the Soaper Hotel was built?

Do you know how the Mesker Steel Company contributed to the beauty of downtown Henderson buildings?

Do you know who the “Father of Henderson” was or whatfamous musician served as a gardener for Professor Bach?

Susan Thurman will answer these questions and more during the upcoming Historic Downtown Henderson Walking Tour on Saturday, April 5. These free, guided walking tours leave the Depot Community Room at 10 a.m. the first Saturday of the months of April through November. Thurman, a local historian, weaves tales of adventure, humor, heartbreak and danger during the hour-long walk through Henderson’s downtown district. Join us for a fun trip back in time!
