Beautiful days like today make me want to abandon everything, and go ride a horse! And while that’s not in the cards for me today, I can still tell you about one of my favorite place on the planet to do just that. Out in Geneva, there is a wonderful riding facility called Blue Moon Stables. It is owned by Chad and Stacy Denton, who inherited the farm that has been passed down through the Denton family for four generations.
I’ve been riding at Blue Moon for over four years, and have never found a place that I feel more welcome, or more safe. It’s the kind of place that once you’re there, you don’t want to leave, and you probably WON’T leave, for at least 2-3 hours. Most times, I leave the farm with a sense of confidence and accomplishment. Riding a horse is not an easy task. It takes a lot of discipline, and for me, a lot of courage.
New riding programs are being offered and other being created, that include private, semi-private or group lessons for both kids and adults. If you have an interest in horses, just curious, or a seasoned rider, then I encourage you to visit their farm. More information about Blue Moon Stables, their events and riding programs, can be found here.
