A scenic vista over the banks of the Ohio River. Watch the Riverboats dock. The site of John James Audubon's Grist Mill, the millstone is still standing.

Each summer this park is full of music and activities for all ages. Enjoy evening on the riverfront during the DHP Summer Concert Series where bluegrass musicians play from 7-9pm. Both the W.C. Handy Blues Festival and Bluegrass in the Park Folklife Festival hold many of their activities in this charming park!

Henderson's riverfront play area showcases an immensely popular water park fountain. The interactive water park boasts random dancing jets of gloriously cool water that shoot high into the Summer air and offer plenty of fun (and cool relief) for those willing to challenge the ever changing bursts of water -- few, if any, emerge dry! The water park has two play areas; the larger area contains forty-five jets varying in height from a few feet to a towering fifteen feet, and a second play area with smaller jets approximately two feet in height that offer endless amusement for the "toddler" set! The Park overlooks the Ohio River with plenty of seating near and below the fountain area where you can enjoy the view and the Park while the kids play.

Green River State Forest
Central Park
The Sloughs

This 1,106 acre park, located about five miles northeast of Henderson, is open to the public for most recreational uses including hiking, hunting and fishing.

Slightly more than half of the property consists of bottomland, which includes about 65-70 acres of swampland, while the rest is gently sloping uplands. This is the only state forest that has significant amounts of bottomland hardwoods and swampland, which makes it a valuable addition to the state forest system. Visit their website for more information about the park.

This park, laid out in the original 1979 city plan, is a natural gathering place for local events. This shaded sight is a perfect place to picnic with the family. Centrally located, it sits in the middle of a vibrant downtown shopping and business area.
Nearly 10,000 acres of Kentucky's finest hunting grounds. The wetlands are home to nearly 10,000 geese and 10,000 ducks during the winter. A paradise for hunters, fishermen, campers, hikers and nature lovers. View geese, squirrels, herron, beavers, coyote, deer and other animals and birds.

Call ahead for questions about public hunting areas.
