On Saturday, May 16, 2015 runners will make the trek from Evansville, Indiana to Henderson, Kentucky for the annual River Run. Although the starting line and finish line have been switched this year, runners will still enjoy the signature crossing of the picturesque Twin Bridges over the Ohio River. The 10 mile race begins at 7 a.m. at the Evansville riverfront and ends at Audubon Mill Park in Henderson. The event is proudly presented by Deaconess, Progressive Health, and Orthopaedic Associates.
Following the run, The Downtown Henderson Partnership will present the Health & Hospitality Fest in Audubon Mill Park. This event is open to the public, as well as race participants. Free events for all ages will take place from 8am-1pm.
Activities include health and farmers market vendors, gardening demonstrations, live music, yoga and more. Horses from Blue Moon Stables will be in the park, and the Henderson County Public Library will kick off their summer reading program with fun activities for children. Healthy Henderson Better Bites program and the YMCA will also be present with health information and demonstrations. The Health & Hospitality Fest is sponsored in part by the River Run and the Henderson County Tourist Commission.
