Henderson, Kentucky’s Mary Towles Sasseen Featured On the “Kentucky For Kentucky” Blog

Henderson, Kentucky was featured on the Kentucky For Kentucky blog this week in celebration of the upcoming Mother’s Day holiday. The creator of the holiday, Mary Towles Sasseen, a school teacher from Henderson, Kentucky held the first Mother’s Day celebration on April 20, 1887 on her own mother’s birthday.


Kentucky For Kentucky’s mission is “to engage and inform the world by promoting Kentucky people, places, and products.”
