Dickens Christmas at the Depot

Did you know that Charles Dickens briefly stopped in Henderson in 1842, a year before he wrote “A Christmas Carol”? The Depot Community Room staff will pay tribute to Charles Dickens this Saturday, December 12 at The Depot.

The Wildwood Flowers will get us in this Christmas spirit with their dulcimer music from 10:00 to 11:30am.

Frank Nally will bring Mr. Dickens back to Henderson from 12:30 to 1:30pm during his reading of “A Christmas Carol”.

Immediately after the reading we will do a drawing for a leather bound copy of “Dickens Christmas Stories.” Entries will be taken 30 minutes prior to the reading.

Later, Elizabeth Powell will demonstrate the art of lace tatting, and Alan Hedgespeth will demonstrate the art of wood carving from 10:30am to 1:30pm.

The Depot is located at 101 N. Water Street. For further information please call (270) 830-9707.
