6 Reasons to Attend Christmas on the Farm

“Christmas on the Farm” is the perfect kick-off to the holiday season in Henderson.  Load up your family and call your friends for a short, but laid-back drive to the country for an experience like no other.  A popular Henderson County horse farm hosts this annual agritourism event on Friday and Saturday, November 24-25 from 10 am to 5 pm.  In its 5th year, Christmas on the Farm has quickly become a holiday tradition for tri-state residents looking for good old-fashioned joy and cheer to warm their hearts.

Never been before? Well here’s 6 reasons you should high-tail it to Christmas on the Farm!

Santa!  Even the jolly old elf himself will be spending the day on the farm, resting in his big chair in the old Red Barn.  Santa will be available for children to deliver their lists and for professional photos to take home.

Shopping!  Christmas on the Farm is the only local event of the weekend where you can check off your list all under one roof!  The indoor riding arena is loaded with local vendors and artisans: from milled soaps to one-of-a-kind jewelry to trendy clothing, your Christmas list will be fun to fulfill without the hustle and bustle!

Pony and Horse and Hay Rides!  Visions of Christmas ponies?  Let the kids enjoy a short ride on one of our trusty ponies or horses.  They’ll be smiling for days!  Or grab your hot chocolate and tour the 100 acre farm in a tractor-pulled wagon and hear stories about the family homestead, which has been in Geneva since 1888.

Petting Zoo!  See more farm animals, and maybe a few you don’t expect in our Gingerbread Pony Barn, just a few steps away from the Indoor Arena.

Food!  Enjoy a bowl of our “secret recipe” Burgoo and take some home with you!  Other food will include hot dogs, sandwiches, popcorn, hot chocolate and more!

Give! Christmas on the Farm is an annual fundraiser for Healing Reins Therapeutic Riding.  The proceeds from the admission, Santa photos, pony rides, hay rides and food booth  go directly to the program, which is a 501c3 non-profit providing FREE riding lessons and activities to children and adults with special needs.  The costs are minimal:

$2 admission

$5 Pony Rides

$2 Hay Rides

$10 photos with Santa

Event location is Blue Moon Stables, 8124 State Route 268, Corydon, KY 42406
